And here I thought the Texas Chainsaw Massacre was going to be discussed.

Out of the entire list, the one I wanted most was Greed. Well, maybe someday.

The only title on that list that I really like is The Letter.

I recall watching Ivanhoe a few years ago on the cable channel, and wondering why I ever thought it was any good.

Yes, GREED should be at the top of the lst - it's shameful that it is being ignored.

Not bad, but Greed DEFINITELY should've won.

Voted for Greed too though...

Hard to believe such films as

Greed

I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang

Test Pilot

The Search

Edge of the City

Dive Bomber

Captains of the Clouds

Lust For Life

All Fall Down

Lost

This is 2 years in a row i have been disappointed.
Hopefully some of the rest of these will
also be released in 2005. Still nothing on the TCM website about the winners.

I was 5 for 5 with my picks. Wish I could do as well with Lotto numbers!

I recall watching Ivanhoe a few years ago on the cable channel, and wondering why I ever thought it was any good.
There is no accounting for taste. This is a really entertaining film to me, and well, I'll take any chance to look at the stunningly beautiful young Liz Taylor.

Liz was indeed a beautiful looking woman in her late teens early twenties.
i caught this a couple weeks back on TCM, and once again i walked away indifferent.
i love swashbucklers, but this film just doesn't do anything for me.
HUAC panderer Robert Taylor is one of my least favorite leading men, though so that might have something to do with it.

Lust For Life was the only film in the list i was really hoping to see sooner that later.
But i'm not too disappointed.
the first week in January i will still be recovering (hopefully) from DDDs pre Christmas sale.
there is no way i'll have been able to keep up with even the releases that have been announced from now to the rest of the year- in either money or time, so a few weeks off is fine with me

Three I voted for won. Ivanhoe, Ice Station Zebra(yay!) and King Solomon's Mines. Ones I voted for that lost: Lust for Life and All Fall Down.

I'm shocked that Greed didn't even make #5.

The last poll had classier choices (Dr. Jekyll double, Days of Wine and Roses, and The Wind and the Lion)

I remember the voting thread. I think most of the forum voted for Greed and it still lost. Of the list I voted for Ice Station Zebra and King Solomon's Mines so I will buy those two when they are released.

Ivanhoe is a terrible film IMO, but I'm not a Liz Taylor fan as she was always the female Vincent Price to me, as in excessive overacting in every scene.

Shaking my head that Greed and I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang lost. Unbelievable.

The only one on the list I really had to have for my own collection was Edge of the City. I was kinda surprised that it was even on the list as I didn't think it was that well known...didn't really think it would win but I'm kinda disappointed anyhow.

I do hope it comes out by the end of the year next year (although I know we're still waiting for many of the losers from last year).

Holy crap... Greed didn't make the top 5? That's unbelievable.

Oh well, I guess it'll come out eventually. Still, that was the only "must get" that I even saw in the entire list.
