Sorry...but eventually it will turn into that. SD will eventually be on the way out whether you like it or not

And there are A LOT of us who are holding off on releases at this point and it has NOTHING to do with a lack of funds.

Honestly, the one thing holding off my purchasing new DVD's is lack of content. I have another 1 1/2 months to go before I buy another damn disk.

And if you haven't noticed, there are a LOT more forums here than just DVDtalk. And I can still talk about DVD's that are coming out. However, it's very difficult to talk about DVD's right now WITHOUT talking about HD. It factors in for a lot of us, obviously. If you don't like hearing about it, then, there's not much you can do about it. HD is going to be here in a month whether you like it or not.

Now let's get back to the Godfather.

No original Mono soundtrack?

There probably is a new set coming next year. Robert Harris supposedly did a restoration on at least the first film.

I read that several years ago in the NY Times (at least 4) and nothing came of it.

It will be great if they clean up The Godfather series. They should send it to the same people that clean up James Bond series. The older films have great look. I buy it again if they clean it up.

1st CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE 3RD KIND, JAMES BOND movies and now GODFATHER series.
Great now after those are fixed they can fix BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA.
