Worked (somewhat) for our cover art complaints. May work for the score as well. Let them know what you think!

Happy Birthday To Me 10, Score 0

Hi all,

Just got the disc...the original print music is horrible but does work in some places. After knowing the VHS version by heart, it's painful to watch but the picture quality is very good. You can even see the shadow of the boom mic when the kids are leaving The Silent Woman after Rudy puts the rat in that guy's beer.

Anyway, can we petition to get the other version? Let me know how and I'll start it. Can Anchor Bay possibly buy the rights and release 20 versions? (sarcastic mode turned off). Anyway, it's still cool to get this gem on DVD.

"I want to hear all the gory details about you and Steve last night." (Still love that line!)

Matt

I watched mine. I'm glad to have it. I didn't mind the new music too much. At least it was dated music to that era and it fit the film well, but yeah I do prefer the original score. It you start a petition I will indeed sign it.

The scoop on the UK DVD...

I just bought the UK version - and can (sort of) happily report that the ORIGINAL music is sort of back...

The UK DVD has the same re-scored horrid music on the english track...

But there is also a German track... and oddly enough that one has all the original music that we all remember and miss...

So... at least one has the option to watch the whole thing dubbed in German with the original music... or at least the beginning with the good music... and perhaps english subtitles...

Hope that helps...

Re: Happy Birthday to Me on DVD?!

I bought it new (and sealed) for $3.00 at a Dollar General store in February 2008. I had not heard of any music change but there are two covers...one with the girl holding a cake with a knife stuck in it. The separate cover insert is the shish-kabob one.
It's 1.85.1 widescreen and the UPC code is 043396060142

English, spanish and japanese subtitles.

Damn I wish I had known people were finding that at Dollar General stores.
