Any sign of The Phantom Tollbooth?

I used to really like The Phantom Tollbooth when I was a kid. Is there any sign of this coming to DVD?

This is a great question... I keep meaning to capture my VHS of it and make a DVD backup... one day... maybe they'll do an official release before I get around to it.

I really should sell my VHS (before a DVD comes out), since I have the laserdisc!

Great movie. Love the doldrums.

I was just thinking about this.

I know Warner Bros has the distributing rights to this, so I wonder why they haven't released it yet.

Well, the movie did teach us not to jump to conclusions.

Was just thinking of this today as I watched Donald in Mathmagic land, so it's awesome this is out! Wish this was a normal dvd; haven't had the best of luck with made on demand, but will get this anyway because is such a classic. Thanks for the link!

Nice to see that it's in widescreen. I watched it not too long ago on TCM and it was full frame.

As much as I don't like the burn-on-demand system, I'm glad that this is finally available.

Oh come ON! (The words that immediately come into my head when a title I want is issued on a mail-order-only DVD-R.)

I think this is the title that will finally cause me to break and buy some Warner Archive discs.

Re: Any sign of The Phantom Tollbooth?

If it helps anyone, I was able to use the scifi25 code to buy this and it took about 5 bucks off, which covered shipping plus a bit more. I've been waiting for years for this one. Recently (maybe in the last 3-4 months) saw this on tv somewhere, but only the last 30 minutes which made me really want to see the whole thing. I'm hoping that the disc is working when I get it (and before anyone tells me how great these discs are, I've gotten at least a couple that I've had to return and exchange because they don't work).

The one good thing about this program, is that it seems movies like this that aren't going to be available otherwise (and with the wait for this already, I was feeling like it would never be released), gives us a shot to have a fairly good copy of it.

Re: Any sign of The Phantom Tollbooth?

Just received my copy of this. Unfortunately, in the first 10 minutes, it skips several seconds about 5 times so I have to get a new one (Warner is sending me a new copy without any hassles). So...yeah, typical MOD. Bit frustrating since I was really excited to get this in the mail today!
