FREAKED! - July 12
Maybe I simply have bad taste, but I really want this movie on DVD.
Surely I'm not the only one?
What other movie has:
* A Bearded Lady played by Mr. T?
* A Human Worm & A Man with a Sock for a Head?
* Visual Effects by the guy who did Terminator 2?
* Randy Quaid, Alex Winter (from"Bill & Ted"), Brooke Shields, Morgan Fairchild and Keanu Reeves?
* Huge walking, rastafarian eyeballs that carry machine guns (and aren't afraid to use them)?
Well, I want this... No, actually I NEED this movie on DVD!
Here's how fans of FREAKED can help:
I found posted on Amazon by the film's producer:
Also, I found this petition online:
Thanks for helping me with my much needed Freaked fix!!

Okay, I'll admit I have a stake in this- I'm the co-writer/director. But if you like Freaked, please petition Fox home video to put it out on DVD. Fax Kelly at (310) 369-5262. If enough people bug them, maybe they'll put it out.

I love this movie. It was on TV the other night, and I was reminded that I'd love to own this on DVD. Hopefully if it ever came out, Alex Winter would do commentary. I'm sure he's got some free time on his hands.

I would love to see what Winters original cut was like before the studio tinkered with it and tossed it into the limited release.
It is a hilarious movie in its current form though and I would love for it too be released on dvd!

It's available on R2 DVD. I bought it a month ago, shortly after it was released. It's pretty inexpensive too. I figured that it might be a long time before a R1 release is out.

You're goddamn right I want Freaked on DVD.
I remember years ago when HBO2 and HBO3 would show it every other morning before I would have to hurry it off to school. Ah, those were the days.

Geez, I thought I was the only one who liked this flick.
By any chance, do you goofballs who like this also like "Ed and his Dead Mother"? Or am I the only one?

I have the R2 of this already, but I will be picking this up to support Alex Winter and Tom Stern. Mainly with the hope that this will help bring a DVD release of the TV show The Idiot Box.

I got my DVDs a bit early in the mail and it's an excellent set but it's I think some things were cut, for instance when Ricky Coogan is reciting a scene from Richard The III some of the subtitles are missing.

I got mine today and from the packaging it looks, well interesting
My package was damaged and worn a bit mind you
the dvd has a nice clear plastic slipcase and it does not look very new as its very worn and messy
as it was not sealed. The dvd under the slipcase was, strange way to do it I think. They should have put the slipcase on the dvd then sealed it.
but from the cover alone it does not look like a normal film in any way, cannot wait to watch it tonight

Spoiler:
That's the way it was in the theatre, on the UK DVD, and on the old Fox LD.
But the disc may seem like it's missing footage to some, as Anchor Bay's disc is the US theatrical cut which is about 5 min. shorter than the UK cut. (I assume that the deleted scenes include all the additional footage, but I haven't got to all the extras.) It doesn't seem that the set includes any footage from the workprint version that has circulated, with scenes like:

Spoiler:
Still, the "rehearsal" version may make up for what the disc lacks.

I have had hundreds of dvds like this and rarley, if ever, had any sealed then the slipcase put on
![Smilie](/images/smilies/smile.gif)
esspecially when its not really a normal slipcase, as this case for Freaked is very odd in itself. The actual dvd has no words on it at all, just a picture and the slipcase has the words on and when the 2 are paired together they create a cover with pics and words, very nice too (well if mine was minty mint it would be better).
and watched the film last night and can now see why its held in such fun terms by everyone, cracking film with some great moments and effects. I didnt know the UK dvd was longer than the USA dvd, so I too hope that footage is on the R1 dvd.

I am loving this dvd! I have been waiting for this movie for years and it sure didn't disappoint... too bad Stern and Winter haven't really done much of anything over the last few years ![Frown](/images/smilies/frown.gif)

This is a pretty great set. It's a shame they cut the two deleted scenes. Sure, they may have been cut for pacing, but at about 75 minutes of actual movie (not counting credits), the scenes wouldn't have hurt.

Of course I could be mistaken and the directors never mentioned anything during the commentary for the scene in question. Yet I can't help but wonder why all the subtitles weren't used because it was really funny.
