What's up with Mrs. Doubtfire?

The DVD is getting hard to find and it's out of stock at most online stores. Is there another release scheduled?

"What's up with Mrs. Doubtfire?"

I know! It's like, is it a man or a woman?!

Actually, it looks like Fox's DVD is out of print now. It was a solid disc, but one that could have been vastly improved with:

1) anamorphic enhancement and a remastered transfer
2) an ability to access the deleted scenes individually

I'm sure a more Special Edition will be coming next year or so. Fox has mentioned that the film would be revisited at some point, so the OOPness would suggest that it's coming sometime soon.

I think Criterion is picking it up for December, along with the director approved edition of Ghost Dad.

Sorry.

Sorry.

But not until they put out the Criterion Edition of Leonard Part 6.

A sequel? Sounds like an excellent time for FOX to do a 2-disc DVD! I hope they don't just recast his family, that would be retarded.

Sure its corny and kinda freaky, but this is one funny movie...

Definitely needs a commentary by Mrs. Featherbottom from Arrested Development.

I was lucky enough to find this as a trade-in at Blockbuster a little bit ago. I would definitely double-dip on this one if it got a better treatment.

Just think about the end of this movie...

Would you let your child watch a kid's show hosted by a man in drag and his puppet?

He's not really in drag, he's in costume. I wasn't sure if you were being sarcastic...

Drag is a costume. It's only for performance.

On IMDB, rumor has it that "Mrs. Doubtfire 2" is not going to happen. Wonder what this means for a new DVD release? I had been hoping for a late 2006 SE, but I probably shouldn't be holding my breath for it.
