Skeleton Warriors (1995) ripe for a DVD release?
So I'm cruising throught the TVShowsOnDVD show list, updating my "picks", and I run across an old '90s cartoon show that I remember seeing a few episodes of. Skeleton Warriors produced by Graz Entertainment, the same company that did the '90s X-Men cartoon. So the animation was pretty good.
The show ran for only 13 episodes, but it was damn cool, if I remember correctly. Had a bit the same kind of feel as the Masters of the Universe series. So I'm figuring that with all the latest "classic" '90s cartoons coming out on DVD with the like of Batman, Superman, and others, I'm thinking a 2-disc release of Skeleton Warriors would be cool and fairly practical.
I used to collect trading cards back in the mid-'90s, for such things as Marvel and DC comic heroes, Star Trek, D&D/fantasy type stuff, and if I recall, I bought a set of Fleer Ultra Skeleton Warrior cards. Very cool set, one of those foil-backed sets with glittery art on the front.

I would be both shocked and amazed if Skeleton Warriors got another DVD release (it had one originally in 2000 ...3 eps on that disc). The problem with a series like this is that there are only a few fans who even remember it being on, and then even fewer who liked it enough to purchase a complete series release.

Well, being that it was only a 3-episode release may have had something to do with it. Also, being that it came out in 2000, before the rash of TV on DVD releases, I would probably think that it may now be a easier sell. A 2-disc release would catch the entire series, plus and extra or two.

I'd love to be proven wrong though... the more animation on DVD the better ...just trying to be practical though in my expectations of what could ever make it out.

It's all in the advertising. Promote it enough, and it'll sell.

From TVShowsonDVD.com

Now can this please give Dino-Riders a chance for life on DVD if a show like this can get a release!
Several weeks ago we passed along word that Gary Goddard Entertainment is preparing a release of Skeleton Warriors - The Complete Series on DVD, but we had little info besides that fact. Yesterday the folks at the studio made a Facebook post stating that the set will be available on December 13th! No pricing, details or package art was provided, nor was it said whether this would be available online only, or in your local stores. They did say, however, that a press release will be coming soon; stay tuned and we'll bring you that document in full just as soon as we get our hands on it!

We've previously reported that Gary Goddard Entertainment is hard at work on a DVD release of Skeleton Warriors - The Complete Series, with a planned release date of December 13th. It turns out that our friends at Video Service Corp. (VSC) will be distributing this title to retailers, and they've sent us all the details about it! The 2-DVD set running 286 minutes will be priced at just $19.98 SRP. In addition to the show itself (which ran for 13 episodes), you'll also get these special features:
"Bad to the Bone: The Making of Skeleton Warriors" - a 45 minute documentary on the origins and development of the show.
Audio Commentary on Select Episodes with creator Garry Goddard and writers Julia & Eric Lewald
Promos
Galleries of Concept Art
And More!

Cool beans, a whole series release sounds good to me. I have the old 3 episode dvd. Hopefully I can get some scratch off selling it. It used to be quite a collector's item for a while.
