This 1964 film starring Ivan Dixon and Abbey Lincoln will be released on region 1 DVD on 9/28/2004. A restored print was re-released in 1993 that I was fortunate to see at the time. This is a really well crafted film with good performances that deals with a number of topics that are still relevant for African Americans and society as a whole. The filmmakers were documentary makers and the movie has a very real and naturalistic feel. The soundtrack features a number of Motown hits. The movie also features Yaphet Kotto in his first credited role.
