I'd be pissed if I had paid any more than $30 for the original Box Set.

ROCKY 1 needs a clean transfer
ROCKY 2 needs making of
ROCKY 3 needs deleted scenes, screen tests, MR. T interview

If the new set doesn't have this, I'm not buying this set again!

I guess eventually when people refer to something like Rocky V, they won't be talking about a specific movie but the fifth "upgraded" repackaged boxset release of the series.

Im gonna wait for final specs before I decide. The new transfers are tempting though, but I dont know if its enough to double dip. Maybe it will be a X-mas gift

Considering Rocky VI is close to being green-lit, I'll hold off for a later 6-movie set.

I don't know...after V I'm not expecting very much. It's like getting exciting that there's a new Police Academy movie coming out.

Will the original mono tracks be included for the original film like the current dvd? Will the original audio tracks be included for the sequels?

If so,then I will give this set a shot, over the current box set. Which I was contemplating picking up eventually,or just buy the original. Though my dvd addicted friend just bought the original set after trying to get it for a low price for so long. He will be irritated to learn about a new set, hehe. Sure he does'nt 'have' to buy it,but you know he will. He can't resist.

Oh about part 1's transfer. Does it not come to anyones mind, that the film may intentionally look that way as an artistic choice? If so,we don't need 'more clean up' on the title. Since it was given a SE release,I am sure some care went into the transfer and the correct look stayed intact whiel still being restored.

But you know how grain phobic some people are

My thoughts exactly. I've spent so much money and time with the first set (anamorphic issues) that I'll need a good reason to upgrade.

Oh, please! ROCKY IV and V are both bottom of the barrel.

And the fact that Sly inserted a music video and not one but TWO training montages, plus a robot suplot to take care of Paulie....

....doesn't that indicate how bankrupt on ideas Sly was for this one, not to mention the horrible dialogue for Drago? This is good cinema for you???

I didn't mind IV, but I liked III the best. All about the "Eye of the Tiger" - LOL.

It had him winning, had him losing, had the death of Mickey, had Apollo (of all people!) training him, and of course - Thunderlips!!!

(I also love the fact that the opening montage had a clip from the Muppet Show!)

Sweet, glad I waited. With these movies being so old, you'd think they would of got it right the first time.

Any word on whether the subs will be fixed? That's what has kept me from picking this up for three years.

Amen.

ROCKY III.

The greatest challenge.

You had to have seen this in theaters back in June 1982 to realllly enjoy it.

But the first 3 are all great.

What? 4 is Classic.

Come on, Dolph Lundgren, the training scenes.

one of my favorite parts in IV is when hes driving in his car remembering all the times he had with apollo . and that awesome song by survivor in the montage.
