Just wanted to point out to fans of Conan O' Brien that the Triumph DVD has some changes from the original broadcast. Specifically, the ATTACK OF THE CLONES segment (perhaps the best and most popular of Triumph videos) does not make use of the STAR WARS score as originally seen. At one point, the original played some of the "Cantina Band" and "End Title" music, which were fitting and fit the mood of the piece. This music has been changed to something generic. It doesn't ruin the segment, but it lessens the comic effect at the end, especially when Triumph says, "for me to poop on" just as the original STAR WARS trumpets blast to a finale.

Just thought you all oughta know.

No doubt this is because they had permission to use the music during the broadcast, but to license it for this DVD was too expensive.

Triumph would be pissed.

I'm pissed they left off the clip where Triumph is supposed to be in LA to "scout" before Conan's week long gig of hosting there. Triumph tells Conan he can't handle the bitches in LA, he tells him that Conan going from NYC to LA is like Triumph rolling his poop from one room to another room, and towards the end he tells Conan to bring Shannon Doherty, who's sitting right next to Conan laughing herself into a seizure, to LA with him cause she's one, hot serious bitch. And Triumph keeps putting sausages into this dog's mouth and she has fake dog boobs because she's from LA.

I know they couldn't use everthing, but they did use Triumph in LA, so it would have made sense to have the skit where Triumph scouts LA in advance, right before the skit where he's already there. Shannon alone was reason to make sure this was on.

Oh Well.

I think the end of the 3rd dog show was cut also.

There was also a cut at the VMA's when he's talking to two of the guys from NSync. It shows Triumph humping Justin Timberlake on a VT monitor. The music was originally one of their songs, but this was edited to some generic music track, made to sound like that. Also, it seems that that part of the segment is shorter than the one originally aired. Again, probably rights issues, but still...

Is it worth getting???

I found it hilarious.

Older folks around me did not however.

The Official DVDTalk term for "slight editing" is CENSORSHIP.
