Can't really think of any 80's flicks that I'd like to see on DVD that aren't already available, except maybe a SE of The Road Warrior. Lotsa 60's & 70's on my wish list, tho.

Point Blank
The Driver
Homebodies
The Wrong Box
Charley Varrick
Ride the High Country
Prime Cut
Firecreek
Sorcerer
(OAR this time, dammit!)
The Hill
Our Man in Havana
Thieves Like Us
All at Sea
Emperor of the North
The Naked Prey
Brewster McCloud
The Gumball Rally
36 Hours

There's only 2 that I really want from this era;

Restless Natives 1985 (comedy from Scotland) 'Oh the humanity!!'

Crossroads 1986 (Ralf Macchio) I just loved the guitar duel!!

Scratch that, I saw that it's just been released.

Richard

I'm a huge fan of late 60's, 70's and 80's cinema. I have to give props to the DVD companies for putting out quite a lot of these films. I'm not really talking about the big films like Godfather and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. I'm talking about the smaller films of Pacino, De Niro, Redford, Hoffman, Beatty, Hackman, Nicholson, Newman and Brando. When are the following going to see the light of day?

Hi, Mom!
Just finished doing the weekly "What DVDs are you getting thread" and Hi, Mom! will be released next week.

Skimming over the rest of this thread...

Cloak & Dagger was released a week or two ago.
Silver Streak will be released in two weeks.

I spoke briefly with Rita Rudner about her experiences making this film a few months back and totally forgot to ask her if she had any news about an upcoming release (and perhaps a commentary).

I am still very much looking forward to the eventual release of:

The Competition (1980)
Missing (1982)

The Bay Boy (1984). One of Keifer Sutherland's first film roles. I've always liked this small, period drama.

Any updates on any new 70's-80's films on DVD?

So far on my list, Hi Mom! is the only one that has come out on DVD.

I'll take any title that received Oscar or Golden Globe nominations.
