Is the Sword and the Dragon ever coming on DVD?

The Russian title is Ilja Muromets but is this ever going to come out on DVD?

Thanks for your help.

I am glad you brought this up. I saw this film in its horribly-dubbed, panned-and-scanned, badly-cut American version on New York t.v. many times when I was a child, and liked it a lot in spite of its emasculation. The domestic video that has circulated (most copies recorded at EP speed), like the t.v. broadcast, can't begin to reflect how awesome this movie must have looked in theaters. It was released in 1956 with an aspect ratio of 2.35:1.

It has just been released on DVD at 2.35:1 in Russian mono (with a 5.1 option), with subtitles and a 94-minute running time. It is available PAL only.
