I just got a laser disc player, and I am wondering what is out there on LD, but is unavailable now and for the near future. I know Star Wars OT and Blade Runner (Non-DC). BUt what else should I look into getting?

For now the complete two hour making of Jaws documentary, but I would hope that at some point Universal does a re-release as a two disc set.

Rad

License to Drive

and yeah, Howard the Duck - if I only had 100+ to waste it would be mine.

Some people like some of the Criterion commentaries etc.

I know I have the Killer and Hard Boiled CC LD and they cost about $20 vs buying the DVDs for $100+

Oh, no LD and player (in general) are no longer produced. However, there is still an active used market. I did not get LD until early this year. Bought a huge auction with an elite player and 80 disc. Then bought several more disc. Buying in lots, you end up with alot of good stuff relatively cheap. I buy some lots for movies I like but do not feel compelled to spend a great amount of money on.

There's a Criterion version of it on LD though that has some nice features... well the fact it has any features makes it an improvement over the DVD

I completely forgot about Harry and the Hendersons - that was a staple movie during my childhood!

Need to see Howard the Duck, too.

Did anyone own the laserdisc? What was it like?

I know the story with Song of the South. What's the hold-up on Twilight Zone: The Movie?

The Alamo (Director's cut...212 minutes)
