If it is true...I hope they sell it without the belt...that would make the price way too sky high...

I don't believe this. The link is dead. And I don't know if a "livejournal" entry counts as a "news source".

I can't see the WWE putting out something this extensive. It's going to cost a fortune and they wouldn't put out something like this unless they could get a ton of sales off it. That's too many disks at once for the average buyer and it's just going to encourage bootlegs, which the WWE is cracking down on pretty hard these days.

BUT, I'm going to start saving my money now, just in case.

I'd rather see a history of the NWA title though.

This is going to cost $500, at least, if true.

As far as I know, the WWE is planning on a best of Four Horsemen disk for the end of the year and a History of ECW set (2005). Eddie Guerrero 2 disk set comes out next month.

I don't know about this. It would make much more sense to release these as individual volumes, without the box or any other fancy replica stuff. That way, they could continue to release volumes as the years went on...and it would be much easier for more casual fans to pick and choose.

These specs. sound like total bullshit. This has been listed as a 12/31/04 release date and the retail is $24.95. This will probablly just be a WWE documentary of the championship over the years with a select few matches thrown in as extras.

I really don't think that's true, lol...it'd be at least $500 and it'd be a VERY limited buying audience.

Later.

Sounds like the "livejournal" source was just a wish list, not reality. I read all the pro-wrestling sites and subscribe to some of the trade sheets, and I never heard of anything this extensive.

I heard the history of the title (WWE/WWF) is scheduled to be only 2 discs. pwinisder.com mentioned this this afternoon.

14 disc set, combined with WWE's markup for DVDs as it is, plus the hardcover book and replica belt make this sound like wishful dreaming.

Now if WWE were to put out 7 dual sided disc set with these matches, that would be more reasonable and affordable (without the collectable stuff).

Sounds too good to be true, and if it were I hate to think that it will get tainted by ending with JBL as the champion when all is said and done. I know it is current, but couldn't they wait until somebody better is champ or end it with Eddie?

Sounds amazing but it reminds me of when the Ric Flair DVD was about to come out they listed about 15-20 additional matches that were later not on the set.

I haven't watched Smackdown in quite a while, and so I'm not up on what the deal is with JBL. Why did he switch to become, uh, what do they call the badguys? Loved him as Bradshaw. He used to be on Fox News' Saturday business block and knew what he was talking about.
