You were going to spend $40? I didn't think any place actually had it at retail.
It is $21 and change at DDD. I don't know about you, but my time and effort is certainly worth more then $21 (with regards to recording them from tv).
May not be happy with it, but something is better then nothing. Plain and simple.

I heard over at TVShowsonDVD.com today that Lion's Gate are preparing a statement in response to people's complaints regarding the syndication episodes of Alf. So we will know son enough if they plan to continue to do this for future releases.Rumour has it that they have been inundated with thousands of complaints regarding this!!!

I bought this on release and only found out about the edits a few days ago. I'm not entirely pleased that some episodes are edited, but with the other option of have ZERO Alf DVDs, I guess I'll go for the edited ones. Had I read before I bought, I would have waited a few months to see if there is a correction.
As for the person who asked if the voice changed, there have been 3 people who have done ALF's voice. The earlier episodes have a much deeper voice, as well a bit of a different personality. I can't explain the difference other than by the end he was lighthearted and slapstick, and at the beginning, he was a little more dark... maybe it's just me. Who knows.

well, the packaging SUCKS! I ordered mine from DDD and received it in the mail today. I heard the rattle before i even opened it. Discs 3 and 4 were both loose, and #4 was scratched all-2-hell. I still want this set because i loved the show so much. DDD emailed me a Return Label and i'll be swapping it for another......BUT......guess what, my luck has it that Alf is now on backorder again. I'll be forever getting this!
