Hidalgo subtitle question

Hi. On the Hidalgo DVD, is there suppose to be subtitles when characters are not speaking in English? I noticed that nothing was in the actual movie when the indian cheif was speaking to Hopkins in the tent and when the sheikh was talking to his daughter..

I see subtitles when I enable subtitle 1, but I thought there would be some in the actual movie..

Thanks

There are some in the actual movie... they are not burned into the film, only via subtitles.

Activate subtitle track 06.

This will only show the subtitles during the non-english speaking portions.

Yeah, I just watched Hidalgo last night and I thought it was weird that they didn't make the English subtitles for non-English parts automatic. I was like 1/4th of the way through the movie before I realized I was supposed to be understanding what these people were saying.

What? You all don't understand Souix and/or Arabic?

But anyway, I bought Hidalgo blind and actually found the film enjoyable. Not great, but decent film. The cinematography was one of the things that stood out as near outstanding.

While watching the end when
Spoiler:
Hidalgo was racing towards the finish line and passing the last few horses
, I felt like I was watching the end of the Pod Race in Episode I.

They were automatic on my player, maybe it's a player specific kind of thing.
