I like that when I throw Magnolia or a Criterion DVD player into the player, it goes right to a menu that asks me to watch the movie or pick a feature. I hate these elaborate menus that show clips from the movie or something fancy for a minute and a half. It's a big waste of my time.

Yes. This is why I laugh when someone tells me to use the chapter feature on the disc menu instead of just glancing at a chapter insert.

Amen on the simple menus. I hate listening through clips and soundbite. And none of that burnt umber to harvest brown color change when I'm trying to select a feature. There are billions of colors, so do they pick two that are virtually the same? As far as genres, the late seventies basketball craze has been ignored to this point. One On One, and more importantly to me 1979's Fast Break (with Gabe Kaplan) and The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh (Dr. J) aren't out there yet. And why in the name of all things holy can they not get a decent North Dallas Forty out? Its only maybe the greatest movie about professional sports ever. Sorry, I'm getting of the subject. More easily navigated menus.
