Now that Kill Bill vol 2 is set for release, is there any news about the super Edition thats been rumored since the release of vol 1. I've been holding out on buying both 1 and 2 for the Special Edition.

I'd like to know too. I see that DDD is offering both DVDs and both CD soundtracks for the low, low price of $70. That's ****ing highway robbery!!! I realize that comes out to $20 per movie and $15 for each CD, but com'on! A CD packaged with a DVD is usually hugely discounted, is it not?

I'm going to wait it out and get the so called Deluxe Uber Editon. It has to come out either for the holidays at the end of the year or at least the first quarter of 2005.

I would love for the uber edition to come out soon, but I can hold off.

I don't see why he didn't release them properly in the first place.

Figuring they cut out maybe ten minutes(end credits for vol 1 and recap info) it's still doubtful the full version will fit well on one disc. Better have some good extras to justify it, imo.

I'm in no hurry.
If it's just small changes that don't take much time (additional extras, changing the B & W to color) I'd be glad to have it soon.
If it's larger changes
1. It may be worse or better, who knows.
2. It'll take too much of his time; I'd rather he spend it on making his next new movie, not a rehashed version of something I've already seen multiple times.

Concerning the B&W . . .
Me and a friend were arguing about this scene; was it shot this way for fear of the MPAA or was it just a style that Tarantino wanted to use in the movie.
A commentary track would have been greatly appreciated on Vol I
but no luck. Will a commentary for both Volumes be possible in the near future?

Well I'm waiting to see what they release and then making my decision. I've got the patience, hell I haven't bought anything from 'The Matrix' series, because I've been waiting for the boxset. It's been 5 years since the first one, so I think I can hold out for one or two years on this

Yes the scene was filmed in color and released in Japan in color with some uncut gruesome violence.
The scene was then changed to B&W and cut alittle bit to get an R rating, instead of an NC-17..+ a few other instances of violence in other scenes were cut also.
Now the scene may have looked awsome and grisly if it were shot in true black & white using B&W film stock. But since they just turned the color off for the U.S. cut,it looks just like turning the color off on a color tv...not to mention they overexposed the image more,so the grue is even less visible and the blood looks like water, not 'slick black oil' as described in the script.
