Young Frankenstein 16x9??

Is there a version of Young Frankenstein that is 16x9?

The Best Buy website says that the latest release is enhanced for widescreen tvs, but I thought that it was not.

Anyone have any information on this?

Thanks.

I own the copy they have listed there, and its not enhanced.

When I bought it a while ago, I think it said 1.85:1, and I thought that meant anamorphic at the time, and was perplexed when I got home as to why it hadn't filled out the TV. But now I know. It's not.

Ugh...I was really hoping that the Best Buy website was right.

For $9.99, its a great deal. I will rethink it since its not 16x9.

Could this be another surreptitious upgrade like MGM did with Back to School?

Did anyone order this DVD from the website? I'm curious about this one.

Of course, I'll always treasure my first edition, with the classic cover art...

The website has this listed as a 20th Century Fox release. Hope the link works...

I knew it was a Fox title. Sorry if I was unclear.

I just brought up the BTS rerelease to show MGM set the precedent for 16x9 reissues. Hopefully other studios will (have?) follow suit.

Fox has quietly released anamorphic reissues before.

Ooh, the plot thickens! Is this a confirmed 16x9 reissue?

Can we get UPC codes/SKUs for the two (three, I guess, if you count the original art release) editions?

I picked it up at Target for $5.50. Great price, but it is not anamorphic! Oh well!

$5.50 IS a great price at Target which is what I thought when I blind-buyed "From Justin to Kelly". I don't think I probably need to further comment on THAT purchase however, "From Justin to Kelly" IS anamorphic in case anyone cares....

I've been holding out for an anamorphic transfer but for $5.50 I'm just going to buy the sucker and upgrade later.
