Last Action Hero Anamorphic Widescreen

EDIT: Nevermind. Apparently the box is incorrect in regards to the aspect ratio. Sorry about the confusion and for inadvertently misleading you guys.

Hi All,

I know recently that the Last Action Hero widescreen disc has gone out of print. Well, today I was at Circuit City and they had about 20 copies of a 2-disc set called The Schwarzenegger Action Pack. It is actually just two normal releases w/their amaray cases packaged together in a box (Sixth Day and Last Action Hero). Anyways, the Last Action Hero is described on the back as 2.35:1, and Enhanced for Widescreen. Just wanted to let anyone know who might be wanting to grab a widescreen copy. I know most dislike this movie, but I find it kinda fun.

Best Regards!

Huh...to be honest, though Columbia/Tri-Star has been criminal in replacing Widescreen releases with Pan-and-Scan hack jobs, I've never known them to release a 4:3 widescreen title...

I'm sorry, but..."Huh wha?" 4:3 widescreen? Is Filmmaker smoking something today? If so, pass it along...

4:3 Widescreen = Standard Letterboxed Widescreen

16:9 Widescreen = Widescreen Enhanced for 16:9 Televisions

I'll have you know, I own the copyright on it...you can speak to my lawyers...harumph!

Actually, that's one of my all time favorite lines from a film, and succinctly sums up an element of my own personal philosophy. I've always been curious and a little sad that David Fincher didn't care to have the line in the film...I think it makes the film...

Indeed, the current disc already is anamorphic. But it's crammed onto a single disc layer and has pretty poor compression quality.

There's a SuperBit edition in R2 Japan.

I didn't really read the entire thread, just seemed by the topic & 1st and 2nd post, it seemed like they were trying to say it wasn't...maybe they'll do a neato special edition one day (i guess we can wish for all sorts of things..)

The first DVD release of Monty Python and the Holy Grail was non-anamorphic.

I would bet that this "action pack" was put together before the FF-only crap disc was released.

Same here. The Action Pack is P&S, despite what the box says. I also got a refund.

Well that sucks. Sorry for misleading you guys. I was just trying to help some people grab a widescreen copy. I didn't pick up the set because I already own LAH. Sorry about the confusion.
