Wow - I just looked on Amazon.com, and marketplace sellers have it listed for $52 and up.
I think you topped my Blackhawk Down Deluxe for $6!

I usually check out the local Gamestop if I'm at the mall. They price DVDs by the standard release price.. for example, I picked up the Armageddon Criterion there for $10, they had the regular release for $10 also. Got the LOTR FOTR EE for $10.99, the regular 2 disc release was $10.99 too

Someone needs to keep a sticky thread listing valuable OOPs like Karate Kid that might otherwise escape notice. If I hadn't caught your post, I would probably never have considered buying it because I avoid full-screen movies like the plague - except for those films which are originally in 4:3 (such as The Shining or Casablanca).
And you had better hope they don't re-release it in OAR - or the value of our copies will drop like a rock.

I find pawn shops to be a good place to buy used DVDs. They generally have no idea what's what so they just sell everything for the same price, and at least the one's around here generally have a fairly good selection as well since movies seem to be a pretty commonly pawned item.

I agree that they generally don't know what they have - and that can be good or bad. One was trying to get $6.88 for dvds that were $5.50 at Wal-mart right across the road (they finally dropped them to $3 and I grabbed a few). Another one was trying to sell the LOTR Fellowship EE for $38 used - I had to point out to them that Walmart had it for under $30 new.
OTOH, as I posted above and in another thread, I have gotten several great deals there (all mint condition):
Tombstone Vista $7
Blade 2 platinum series $6
T2 Extreme $5
Evil Dead SCE (Elite) $3
LOTR TTT EE (no booklet) $10
Black Hawk Down Deluxe (3 disc) $6

Picked up what I think was a misprice at Amazon marketplace today, by a CD Warehouse - the Patriot Superbit deluxe set, which normally sells for close to $20 used, was listed for $8.99 in "very good" condition. I didn't hesitate long. I love CD warehouses, both B+M and online.
There is another copy listed by a different CD warehouse for $11.99 if anyone is interested.
