I have no problem waiting on this. I MAY pick up the normal copy (seeing as I have the other two movies in both the normal release and the EE w/statues.
Why? I only lend out the NON-EE versions..

Christmas 2002 I received the first EE from my mil and last year I received the second, also from her. I wasn't expecting to get ROTK EE until xmas anyway, because I wanted her to complete the tri-fecta. I'm also scheduled to have my home theater complete by late Nov/early Dec so this should work out perfectly. I'm one of the few that doesn't like theaters and always wait for the DVD release. In the case of LOTR, I've always waited for the EE version. I'll be having a great HT breaking in party in late December where we'll re-watch the first two editions and then watch ROTK for the first time. That'll be one great weekend.

Well hopefully this means they will try for a pre-Black Friday release. It's only a 2 1/2 week bump, should be doable, as it seems like it's done already.

I expect it will be right before Christmas - with the anticipation - they know they'll score on bunches of Christmas presents.
