http://www.davisdvd.com/news/daily_news.html

Saw it at Davis DVD just now. No specs, but at least we have a date.

might want to edit the thread title to make sure people know this is for the original movie and not the remake

I edited the subject, but the thread title didn't change. Hopefully "Box Set" is enough to distinguish between the 2.

I think only admins can change the thread titles once submitted. Thanks for the info anyway!

Nice news.
Don't worry about the thread title, as this is the version of the film that really matters, anyway.

As far as what's in it DVDaf says:
127 Minute 'True' Theatrical Version
139 Minute Director's (Cannes Festival) Cut
Zombi: Dawn of the Dead - 117 Minute Argento European Version

And if that's true all I can say is w00t

I don't think it's been confirmed yet.

AFAIK, the only things that are guaranteed are:

DISC 1: Theatrical Cut (the same DVD that's been released)
DISC 2: Director's Cut/Cannes Cut/Extended Cut - whatever you want to call it
DISC 3: Extras

The Argento "Zombi" cut and the documentary "Document of the Dead" were still up in the air last I heard, but if they did make it, each would receive its own DVD, pushing it up to a 4 DVD set if one is included, and a 5 DVD set if both are included.

Also of note on the DavisDVD site are Star Trek Generations CE, Godfather II and Godfather III, from Paramount, and from Universal "Dazed and Confused Flashback Edition" and "Fast Times at Ridgemont High SE."

Last I heard, the set will only be 3 or 4 discs, meaning one or the other (or maybe neither) got included.

I just hope that the Argento cut includes the Zombie musical score.

Dear Anchor Bay: I want a cd of the Goblin score, as with Argento's Opera and Suspiria LE sets! Thanks.

Several years ago, I bought an excellent Italian soundtrack CD of Zombi featuring the Goblin score plus bonus tracks. Not sure if its still in print, but its worth seeking out if no CD is included with the Anchor Bay set.

I too bought a Goblin CD compilation of their various movie scores. I don't remember where I got it though as it was a few years back.
