I have Amadeus, Citizen Kane, Dr. Zhivago, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Singing in the Rain, True Romance, Unforgiven, The Color Purple, The Cardinal, The Mission, The Right Stuff, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Casablanca, The Adventures of Robin Hood, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, Yankee Doodle Dandy, A Christmas Story, Space Jam and Once Upon a Time in America. Hmm, actually, I have most of them except The Shining, Giant, My Fair Lady, Meet Me in St. Louis, A Room With a View, The Uprising, and The Chaplin movies.

I'm still waiting for JFK from that Warner Bros. Holiday offer

beautiful thread i recently splurged on these when amazon had their last red hot dvd sale. i bought every single title that was readily available that i did not already have & that was like 14 titles that i placed in 1 order, i think.

i don't have the Chaplin sets - yet i'm also missing My Fair Lady & The Shining.

i already have the upcoming sets on preorder with amazon.

I just got it in an enrollment last week.

It's easy enough to check, though, for yourself:

I have 13: Amadeus, Citizen Kane, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Singin' In the Rain, True Romance, Unforgiven, The Right Stuff, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Casablanca, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, A Christmas Story, JFK, and Once Upon a Time in America.

Will pick up Enter the Dragon when it comes out (didn't even realize it was coming so soon) and I can't wait for Shawshank, Goodfellas, King Kong, and The Wild Bunch.

A rather high-quality line of DVDs, if I do say so myself.

The following are DVDs released by Warner with the label 'Two Disc Special Edition'
Although Warner has released more 2-disc DVD sets, they are not all 'Two Disc Special Edition'
Case in point, the Harry Potter DVDs, although both have two discs, they are labeled only as 'special edition' and hence not really a part of this line.

The release dates reflect the date when the discs were given the 'Two Disc Special Edition' moniker.
Citizen Kane is not marked Two-Disc Special Edition, but it was actually the first in this line. You even list it. I have actually never seen a copy of Citizen Kane that looks like the one you have pictured. I also don't think that too many people consider The Shining mini-series to be part of this line, though that is problematic.

Most don't consider "Citizen Kane" as part of this line, since it was its first appearance on DVD.

I'd consider any disc that was released first as a single disc/bare bones release, and then later released as a "Two Disc Special Edition" to be all in the same line.

I guess Zhivago's out, too. Does anyone's actually have the "Two Disc Special Editon" banner at the top of their copy?

FWIW, Warner lists all of their 2-disc SEs somewhere on their web site. There's a page that shows them all (although I can't find it now).

my Citizen Kane and Dr. Zhivago both have the 2-disc SE banner on the top. I think the later pressings all have it (they probably did this after the first major wave came out...Unforgiven, Singin' In the Rain, Amadeus, Cuckoo's Nest, etc.)

Going along with the others that this is an incorrect statement. Mine has the banner shown in the photo. I purchasd it late last year from Costco.

It is not incorrect since my copy does not have that banner. However, apparantly there was a later release that does, though I have never seen one in a store.

Thanks. That's the site I mentioned above - I just couldn't find a link to it when I was posting earlier.

Yes, it seems that they include some New Line titles in that list, too, like Boogie Nights, etc., which technically are 2-disc "Platinum Series" titles.

But it's all good.

You can't count the Shining!!! If you do, you might as well count Harry Potter and the Charlie Chaplin films. I'm protesting this thread!!

As of now, I have:

Once Upon a Time in America
A Christmas Story
Amadeus
True Romance
Unforgiven
Citizen Kane
The Right Stuff
Casablanca
Se7en
Boogie Nights

I may get JFK, but I've been told it's very similar to the old 2-disc snapper version. I'm definitely going to get The Color Purple and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and probably Treasure of the Sierra Madre.

Of the one's announced (more or less), definite buys are:

THX-1138
Bonnie & Clyde
Bullitt
Chariots of Fire
Dog Day Afternoon
Gone With the Wind
Goodfellas
Heat
Mean Streets
The Shawshank Redemption
The Wild Bunch

HOLY crap!
