Pink Panther cartoon Season sets?

With the Pink Panther live action box set out already.. when will we get to see the Pink Panther cartoon series from the 70's out on season sets?

It is afterall the 40th anniversary of the Pink Panther so I hear. Come on! I want to see these on DVD now! Who's with me?

I would definitely buy Pink Panther Season Sets. To me, it is long overdue.

If you mean the original theatrical cartoons, there is a single-disc of 8 (I think) Pink Panther shorts that MGM released in 2001. As I understand the quality is pretty average, if that. Plus of course the 6 that are in the new Pink Panther set. I would love boxsets of all the theatrical shorts, myself, like how Warner released Looney Tunes in a 4-disc set, or Disney released their Treasures sets.

These were one of my favorites growing up. I have like no desire for the movies, but I'd love a set of the cartoons.

I would buy this as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the new Pink Panther movie next year brings such a set to fruition.

Yeah that would be really cool...but I want The Ant & The Aardvark and The Inspector cartoons as well. Remember how The Inspector's spanish sidekick guy would "wish he had an enchilada" in his spanish accent when he would get confused about stuff? I bet that keeps these show off DVD.

but contains 8 shorts only, much fewer than Japan-issued DVD,15 shorts(The Best Animation Pink Panic DVD,7 shorts + Pink Animal DVD,8 shorts)

Hope nobody minds if I repeat my own post from a November thread, about Jet Pink's quality (or lack of same) Also note that despite their presence on the cover, The Ant and The Aardvark are NOT in this collection:
<BODY>

  • In The Pink Of The Night
  • Jet Pink
  • Little Beaux Pink
  • Pet Pink Pebbles

  • Pink Blueprint
  • The Pink Phink (Oscar® Winner)
  • Think Before You Pink
  • Toro Pink
  • </BODY>
I haven't seen this title, myself. You might want to read the customer reviews at Amazon. Note that one person points out the old laserdisc had better quality source material, and two of the titles on the DVD (Pink of the Night & Blueprint ) used TV prints, which include a laugh track.

An article said the short "Jet Pink" was mastered from a 16mm TV print with shorter titles.
Maybe the original 35mm Deluxe Color negative is lost...
(Japan R2 DVD "Jet Pink" has the same low picture quality, too.)

Regrettably, the Ant and The Aardvark are still not available in Japan R2 DVD box sets;I think it is due to the copyright reason (maybe unsettled?)

    It means "1964, Academy Awards".
