They seem to have cut back on the extras with the August releases (no commentaries, no Biography episodes, ...). I wonder if this is being done to save money. Oh, well, as long as the transfers are done properly, I won't complain.

I will still be getting "In Old Chicago." |

What is the status on A Tree Grows in Brooklyn?
I'm asking this for my older brother since he loved this movie. Cameron's big August list show that is suppose to come out on August 9, but Amazon does not show that coming out on that date. So what the deal then? My brother really what this badly. |

I am glad to see Fox releasing some of its classic musicals - and though "Orchestra Wives" was not high on my list - one of the extras is a commentary by two surviving cast members. Rare these days for anything made before 1950, and enough of an incentive that I may pick it up.
Now if they would only release a Sonja Henie musical! |

It doesn't look like the Fox Studio Classics has been replaced by the Fox Cinema Classics Collection after all.

Marilyn," "The Amazing Road To 'Move Over Darling.'" All three also include 2.35:1 anamorphic transfers, Dolby Digital Stereo tracks, restoration comparisons and trailers. Retail is $19.98 each. |
That Move Over Darling DVD seems to have some interesting extra features.

Davisdvd.com seems to have mistaken in the labeling of this releases. According to DVDEmpire and DVDTimes.co.uk, these DVDs are part of the Fox Cinema Classics collection, no the Studio Classics.

So, what's the difference between a Studio Classic and a Cinema Classic? I thought they just re-branded until they released 3 more Studio Classics earlier this year.
