well : exploitation is an odd term. i dont really think most films generally termed "exploitation" are truly exploitative, theyre just product of a different time and place.
the only major reason i can see negative response to this film is that its not the usual kind alot of people complaining about it would probably buy : it wasnt a difficult film to watch or understand. infact : one of my favourites of the year : great atmosphere and very solidly put together for a low budget film with very familiar story elements.
