Night Of The Living Dead - what's the best version?

God. I used to love those special edition VHS tapes that Anchor Bay/Elite/Video Treasures used to put out from the mid-to-late 90s.
I remember the remake of Invaders From Mars in widescreen. The two-tape set of Nightmare on Elm Street. The clamshell releases of Halloween and The Stepford Wives.
Ah.... the memories.

No need for bets. Foregone conclusion!

I'd love to see that. I'm going to check out my library to see if they have it.

Elite is where its at but I am a completest so I have all of the versions except the lame 3-D remake and all of those public domain ones.
The 30th Anniversary is definitely crap but I don't mind it considering you can still get the original (unlike Star Wars...well until recently, or Ozzy Osbourne's bastardized Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman).
The commentary on the Elite disc is great though. John Russo often times has to correct Romero on a number of facts and sequences. Its quite humorous considering Russo probably has held onto all of that info since his career hasn't brought him much else whereas NOTLD was just a starting poiunt for Romero. I do have to hand it to Russo though, he gives a lot of interesting facts and really makes what probably would have been a good commentary a GREAT commentary.

WTF!?!?! (My brother and I said that in unison) .... and then our jaw dropped, and we had a great laugh about it.

Don't sell your disc until someone has this new version in their hands and can confirm what's on there. Otherwise you may find yourself losing some features and regretting parting with the Elite.
