"The Monster Squad" is coming in October. You can find out more details by doing a search.

EXPLORERS is one I've been hoping for. I once read about deleted footage but I don't know if any of it still exists. I know Joe Dante wasn't thrilled with the result but it's one my favorites of his films. It also has that great Jerry Goldsmith score. I hope we get a release with a commentary some time soon.

Deleted footage does exist, and it will be on Paramount's October 25th release:

Paramount have supplied us with the full details of their October 19th release of Joe 'Gremlins' Dante's cult 80's sci fi The Explorers starring Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix.
The only extra features will be 2 deleted scenes, namely Wolfgang Is Bullied and Unexpected Thunder Road Ride.

I think The Monster Squad in the year 2020 will be the only movie never released on dvd, how sad is it when Who's The Boss is out on dvd and not The Monster Squad?

After checking out the imdb, it sounds like this might be the re-edited release of the film that Dante made for home video. I think I've already seen those deleted scenes in one of the TV airings of the theatrical version.
The "Unexpected Thunder Road Ride" must be the scene where they're pushing the amusement park ride home and it rolls down a hill.
With that second scene, would it be the entire walk to school at the beginning of the film where Ben shows Wolfgang the diagram and they run into a bully who throws Wolfgang's books on the sidewalk? I'm not sure if I've seen the re-edited version before.
