What in the heck is the deal with Cirque Du Soleil?? Are they going to put ALL of them on Superbit now? I'm sure no-one knows. I just wanted to express how I JUST DON'T GET IT!

It looks like the Les Mis Superbit re-release will not be of the Liam Neeson movie, but of the "Les Mis In Concert" disc that was released with a really poor transfer, and in fullscreen, when you can clearly tell that it was shot in widescreen. Les Mis is the most moving musical I've seen, and I cannot wait for this to drop. This is one DVD re-release that was sorely needed.

Hey Bill, why are there no region 3 dvds on the list? I was reading another thread where the conclusion was that all region 3 superbits play on region 1 players. The main topic of discussion was Black Hawk Down: Superbit Deluxe (region 3). So I searched for this list to see what other r3 dvds there are. If anyone knows, please reply as I am eagerly awaiting any responses.

THANKS

I never got the first DVD release because it was full screen. Instead I stuck with my letterboxed laserdisc. But the new superbit DVD is, of course, widescreen and has the Dolby Digital and DTS tracks SBs always have (and the LD didn't). Got it pre-ordered. Can't wait.

DVD Region 3 Vertical Limit: Superbit (DTS) HK$ 99.95
DVD Region 3 Bram Stoker's Dracula: Superbit (DTS) HK$ 99.95
DVD Region 3 Panic Room: Superbit HK$ 110.95

I added an easier way to lookup superbits from different regions. Also, I want to correct myself on R3 Superbits as Thailand had plenty of them which is Region 3.

Thanks Bill. I already own all of those ones in Region 1. I'm really only interested in the ones that are NOT available in region 1. Know where I can get BHD: SB Deluxe at a decent price?? I've never ordered anything from another region before. I don't have a region free player, although supposedly I can hack mine to make it so, and I did try, but I think I may need a non-region 1 dvd to see for sure. Any suggestions? Of course it would have to be NTSC. I've thought about buying a ntsc/pal region free player, but I have enough trouble affording my dvd/theater obsession in region 1 alone.

Well, as stated, Region 3 Superbits play on any region 1 player no problems.

As far as region free. The one I have and would suggest is from www.cyberhome.com , the 500 series. www.nerd-out.com as all the information you need to easily hack it.

Well, I think hmv.co.jp has it for less... but close enough. 40 bucks US for the superbit.

They might! However, as stated before, there just the same as Region 1's. There are no forced subs or anything.

I bought the Italian SBs, they came today. They come in what looks like a cross between a superthin keepcase and a digipack. Its actually very cool. The disc is also purple. Looks like they used colored plastic instead of clear. Very cool.

Now the bad news..all of the 5.1 tracks are in Italian. There is only an English 2.0 surround track. I hope its released in the UK with a DTS English track. The PQ is awesome though.

Yeah, that info was stated if you read some of the reviews of the discs. Such a shame too.

I agree on the fact of Final Fantasy & the others needing to be released elsewhere as SB's.

A Superbit version of Close Encounters of the Third Kind is coming out in Japan on December 19th.

EDIT: It looks like Stand By Me is also getting released in Superbit form on the same date.

well, i'm pretty sure they will use 5.1 DTS remix.... BUT according to SuperBit's tradition, they hardly "specially remastered" any movie just for SuperBit....
as far as i know, they use the same master with better decoding/filtering process... so, it means that if the original master already got 5.1 remix, then it won't be a much of problem...

if Stand By Me only got mono (so far), then i don't know what to expact with SuperBit's DTS
well, unless they remastered everything again... just like Lawrence of Arabia

just my thought

Stand By Me has been mono in every incarnation thus far.

And where's "Glory" on the master list??
