Guthy-Renker infomercial DVD series subscriptions - Any experience?
Me and a good friend were talking the other night about classic variety shows we would love to get on DVD such as the old Steve Alan show, Milton Berle, Frank Sinatra show, Dean Martin show, etc etc etc. So, as is want to happen, no sooner do I turn on the TV early this morning than I see an infomercial for this:
http://www.deanvariety.com/
I flip past Gunthy-Renker infomercials all the time and they are all the same. Buy now and receive the next two installments every other month... blah blah blah.
So what I am wondering is, has anyone ever bought anything like this through them and if so how is the quality and content of the items? I would really like to order this and God knows the price is right! But I also don't want to get screwed in the end.

Just an update to this....
Guthy-Renker now has an ebay store and you could get these for way cheaper than the subscription method. It looks like they now have a Special Edition-Vol. 4 and a Vol. 5-9 set. They are both $39.99 and waaaay cheaper than the subscription method. My only problem is I got one of the first sets which was vol. 1-5 and they also had 6-10, but now its SE-4 and 5-9. Argh.
And another question....does anyone know when these were produced originally? Theres an intro with Orson Wells and some Jimmy Stewart ramblings on the first 2 discs at least.

However, this may be good news for you. I ordered the two sets (SE-4 and 5-9) back on 2/20 and just received the discs today: They were volumes 1-10! I'm planning on calling customer service Monday to see about getting the SE disc, as well as strongly suggesting they either change their eBay listings or ship the correct disc configurations.
