yeah, that's a drag. I live in Europe and watch DVDs via DVD-ROM and region-decoding software. I can't pass up Ace while I'm here...
|
Great news! I've helf off buying the original P&S version for a long time despite really loving this movie. Good to know that a proper version of this flick is on it's way to DVD.

OK, it's obvious that Universal thought they'd be clever making this a 26th anniversary edition as a joke. I would've rather done without the joke and released it last year when it should have been, with better treatment like deleted scenes, Martin commentary, etc. I already sold my P&S copy, so I am looking forward to OAR this time 'round even if it is a subpar release.

This is available for pre-order at DDD now: 13.99

Thanks for the info!

That cover rocks.
|
Great news!!! I also like the cover and that preorder price is very reasonable!!!

I can't wait to get this. I'll be somebody, and things will start happening to me then.

I love this movie, but this is one of the most lackluster "special editions" I've ever seen. It's the kind of special features that ought to be standard on any DVD, I expect a little more out of a "special edition." Feh.

I'm just glad it's in anamorphic widescreen.

has anybody picked this dvd up, yet? I couldn't find any reviews for it in the review section. I have waited to pick this dvd up for a long time.
|
I rented it from Netflix - great anamorphic widescreen transfer and the extras were very slim.
|
Something is weird with the trailer on this SE disc. The volume is recorded VERY low, so low I could barely hear it even with my TV volume maxed out! However, it's just a trailer. The extras were disappointing ("abusing plants" was funny, though) but the movie itself looks wonderful, and it's in WIDESCREEN AT LAST!!!!!

Watched the "S.E." this morning. Great movie and the transfer and sound are excellent. The bonus features are insulting though. Would it have killed you, Universal, to put together a decent 1/2 hr. doc? As for the trailer, I watched it on my surround system and it was fine. It was weird though, because all the audio came through the rear speakers and the front and center were very, very low. Maybe it was encoded weird and has to use a 5.1 set-up to play correctly? I also don't like the cover art used because the pictures are obviously drawn from the film or old promo stuff and look very low resolution.
Well enough bitching, at least I only paid $12.99. The disc is worth it for the movie in fine form, which is, of course, why I got it in the first place. |
watched it last nite...looks great, but the special features are lame. lots of fluff, but its cheap and the transfer is good..so buy it now
|
Shocked to see such a well regaurded film get such a poor "SE" treatment. The special features on this disc are insulting at best.
