DVD ALERT!!! Joan of Arc (Victor Fleming, 1948, with Ingrid Bergman) is coming out tomorrow Tuesday May 18 2004 in the USA and a week later in Canada (Tuesday May 25 2004). This is the first uncut and restored version ever put out in any medium. It's on Image. As you may or may not know, this true epic (in Technicolor) was amputated of at least 45 minutes (from 145 to 100 min) when the Ingrid Bergman-Roberto Rossellini elopement scandal hit the fan of American opinion back in 1948... What's left of it on very poor-quality public domain VHS shows it to be an excellent film. Sure to become a collector's item (even more so than it aleady is).

Please add:

Love & Human Remains (1993)

to the list.

It should be noted that:

"Meet Me in St. Louis (1944)" has been released, and shows up at Amazon
"Floating Weeds (Ukigusa) (1959)" was released with "A Story of Floating Weeds (1939)" from Criterion.
"the Nephew" is available as a Region 1 DVD from Canada (amazon.ca).

Huge update posted today.

That appears to be the animated TV show, not the 1986 live-action movie. If the movie is available on any of these boxed sets, please let me know, but I could not find anything in the information at Amazon.

Please list the ones that aren't available on DVD that you would like to see released and I'll add them to the list. Thanks!

Please add:

Chipmunk Adventure, The (1987)

It was originally slated for a 2004 release, but those with preorders received this message from the official website:

"Thank you for your order of The Chipmunk Adventure and Batmunk/Daytona Jones. Unfortunately we realized the re-mastering process would take more time than we anticipated, so we regret to inform you that, at this time, we are unable to release these titles. Please be aware that your credit card has not been charged for these two items. We hope to make these titles available in the future."

Mo Unreleased

Celine & Julie Go Boating - 4 hours of silly surrealism from Jacques Rivette & co
World's Greatest Sinner - only available on VHS (blech) from absolutefilms.net, though talk of a DVD mastering process abounds
Duckman (season...any of 'em) - Fine animated satire from the Rugrats people (!)
Plague (aka M3: The Gemini Strain) - saw it on the Late Show on NYC channel 3 decades ago, one of many lovable creature features I just can't dig up even on the dupes scene
