High School USA DVD

As noted in this thread...

http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=260846

... High School USA has been found in the $5 DVD bin at Wal-Mart.

I remember seeing this on TV when I was a kid. This must be a really obsure title since I wasn't even aware it was available on DVD and the fact that it's not carried by Amazon, DVD.Com, DVD Planet, or Deep Discount DVD.

Does anyone know where I can get info on this title? I'm looking for the date this DVD was released and the retail price for it.

Thanks,

You know, I haven't been around that long but I have NEVER seen this title before I bought it in the $5 bin.

I'm guess it come out recently. It's not digitally remastered and I noticed it's put out by Hearst Entertainment Group.

But I think it's a TV classic. The first time I know Michael J. Fox and Crispin Glover worked together before BTTF.

This title is now being distributed by Universal, and has shown up at online retailers.

I ordered it dirt cheap from DDD during the last 20% off sale - I love 80's TV movies like that! Hope to see Poison Ivy released someday as well.

I picked this up a year or so ago from Pathmark. I believe it was from Goodtimes.

The funny thing is, the cover to the DVD has nothing to do with the film. It is like two racing cars or something. Only on the back does it have a picture of the cast.

I thought it was a different film.

The cover is the ABSOLUTE WORST cover I have ever seen for a DVD...

Although not as bad as the VHS covers for Robert Altman's SECRET HONOR.

The film (a one man show about Richard Nixon) was released on video under several titles.

One, I believe it was LORDS OF TREASON, featured a half naked woman, sitting on a guys lap, who was holding a gun to his head. No women or guns in the film so it was just bizarre.

Another one, under a different title, made the film out to be a mystery or something.
