Anyone have Any Gun Can Play? I noticed Dvdempire.com had it listed as in-stock this morning and ordered it and it shipped today. Must be a first for VCI to actually make a ship date. Amazon has it listed as a 2-3 week title.
Is the "Wildeast" Boot Hill any good?

I glanced over the "Westerns" section at Best Buy and Sam Goody's this week and couldnt find Any Gun Can Play... Anyone esle have any luck? Enzo G Castellari is one of the great, unheralded Italian b-directors, Blake's Marauders, Go Kill Everybody and Come Back Alone, High Crime, The Violent Breed, House by the Edge of the Lake, Great White, Day of the Cobra, and 1990: The Bronx Warriors.
Also, Amazon has Django Kill... under the wrong release date, have it on backorder. Contacted them about it, treid to tell them it should still be a preorder (and discounted as such) but they said they had it listed as being available in Jan so thats how they were going to list it.

"Availability: Please note that titles occasionally go out of print or publishers run out of stock. We will notify you within 8 to 10 days if we have trouble obtaining this title."
In the future I will no longer place orders for VCI product through Amazon. Anyway, I've heard a couple of people say they've ordered VCI titles directly from the VCI website www.vcihomevideo.com and recieved their discs WEEKS before street date!
As for DJANGO KILL!, the Hell with Amazon, DDD sells Anchor Bay titles at a steep discount, so I'm gonna wait for them to list it.
And I haven't heard anything about the quality of the BOOT HILL dvd yet...

"Spaghetti Westerns: Cowboys and Europeans from Karl May to Sergio Leone" by Christopher Frayling.
You can usually pick it up for under $20.

Uh oh!... It looks like Anchor Bay has taken DJANGO KILL! off their list of future releases.

Now Michael Felcher is saying DJANGO KILL! will come out under the "Blue Underground" label. Blue Underground is a company that Bill Lustig is involved in which produces extras for other companies releases, and in the future they'll be releasing the genre titles that Anchor Bay has gotten sick of doing.

The only spaghetti westerns that I currently own are the ones in The Man With No Name trilogy. I've actually always thought of them as Clint Eastwood movies, rather than spaghetti westerns, just because I never thought that much about who directed them. Thanks to this intriguing thread I just ordered Django/Django Strikes Again, A Bullet for the General, and Four of the Apocalypse. I've never seen any of these, but I'm a huge fan of the No Name trilogy, especially The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, so hopefully these'll be enjoyable, too! The biggest risk of the three titles I ordered is probably Four of the Apocalypse, judging by the lukewarm reviews I've read, but I'm actually a pretty big Lucio Fulci fan, so maybe I'll find something to like about it.
Thanks to everyone who posted all the great recommendations in this thread!

and Xytraguptorh. Like we said, have a little trepidation about Django Strikes Back (its basically just a bad, cheap 80's action movie... but, I own it too since it comes in the two-pack) and Four Horsemen which really seems to be one of the biggest "love it or hate it" films I've run across.

"...This is director Sergio Corbucci's best western, and definitely one of the shining moments in the spaghetti western genre - offering great performances by the genre's top actors (Nero & Millan), a killer score by Ennio Morricone, and of course Corbucci's direction**....COMPANEROS approaches its politics with a mixture of light hearted comedy, and over the top action...Jack Palance is at his nuttiest as Nero's arch enemy, a reefer smokin' psycho with a wooden hand and a pet falcon named Marsha. Franco Nero and Tomas Millan both give outstanding performances, and their chemistry together is right on the money..."
DVD contains interviews with Nero,Millan & Morricone.
**His craftsmanship as a director had improved greatly since the (at times) amatuerish DJANGO. The editing & cinematography is impressive as well, In fact the opening 5 minutes is one of my favorite Intros in cinema.

Here is that review I promised. It is still in the preview stage. Good film, definitely belongs in the “B” to “C” grade of Spaghetti Westerns, but it has a very unique plot, and sufficiently quirky direction and performances...

Don't consider it, get it! It's a great film. I just wish that the Fantoma disc was an anamorhpic tranfer.
