Case has sticker as artwork for back of case... annoying
Hello,
I've noticed that some DVDs/Blu-Rays have their entire backing as a sticker, that is partially glued on. If one were to take this off there is some art but none with the information this flimsy back art has.
Why do companies do this? Any advice for how to protect it?
It's a special edition Blu-Ray of "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" with a booklet attached to the inside of it.

Covers entire back. Inside has some information but not nearly as detailed as the flimsy paper backing. Any way to protect it? It's glued in a couple of places.

Let it sit in a warm room to soften the glue and it should come off easily. Be careful when pulling as it could tear the case.

I think the OP wants to keep it on, but inevitably they end up coming off one way or another. I just remove them and keep them in a drawer with other loose pieces that come in discs that won't fit anywhere in the case (don't believe in folding them!)
And the reason why they come that was is they want to have the info viewable on the back when on store shelves, but when stored at home it's intended to have a more subtle back cover without so much going on.

Those are usually attached with those little dabs of rubbery stuff. I've run into this on occasion where (rather than let it get messed up in regular shelf-wear) I've carefully peeled off that sheet at the little dabs of rubbery stuff, then in order to make them fit inside I've carefully trimmed around the edges until it will comfortably fit inside the case as an insert.
Sometimes, depending on what they are, I'll leave them on the case (like with Apocalypse Now: The Complete Dossier) because it would be a more complicated job to get them to fit inside and the case would look weird without it. In that case I just try to be as careful as I can each time I take it off the shelf or put it back, so I don't mess it up.
