A while ago I cleaned one of my DVD cases with isopropyl alcohol, but it caused the outer polyethylene cover to lose its smooth texture. Is there any way to reverse this?

I made that mistake one time with a CD case. I think the only solution is to buy a new case, unfortunately. Lesson: never use lighter fluid or varsol to remove the vestiges of a pesky sticker.
