Image Entertainment/Wade Williams inserts?

There's been some recent activity here over inserts, so I may as well strike while the iron's hot... Can anybody help me make a list of Image Entertainment/Wade Williams (or anything vaguely related) DVD's that have inserts, particularly liner notes? I bought many of these primarily 1950's sci-fi and horror films just recently, but in the 3- and 4-disk multipacks which preclude liner notes, and am curious what I'm missing. Many titles were released over 10 years ago in snap case format, so it's also possible some notes didn't carry over to the single disk keep cases.

I own "Invaders From Mars", which comes with an 8-page booklet.
I found "Destination Moon"'s liner notes online. Seems to be 2 pages plus a chapter list in the snap case, with a cover added (4 pgs total) for the keep case booklet.

Otherwise I believe these also have printed liner notes (i.e. more than just the blurb on the back of the box), but haven't seen them for myself: The Astounding She Monster (TW), She Demons (TW), The Hideous Sun Demon (TW), Lost Continent (TW), Teenage Monster (TW), The Crawling Eye (DDV), Cat-Women of the Moon (TW), Flight to Mars (TW), Giant From the Unknown (TW), The Beach Girls and the Monster (TW), and Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla (TW).

TW= Tom Weaver liner notes
DDL = David Del Valle liner notes

I believe these have just a chapter insert: Kronos, Robot Monster, and The Cosmic Man.

but would love to have confirmation from actual owners, along with the format (snap case or keep case). There are dozens of these Image titles and almost certainly ones not listed, but I think only a handful include real liner notes. Thanks for any help!

Re: Image Entertainment/Wade Williams inserts?

Here's what I have...

These are keep cases with no insert(s):

Bride of the Monster
The Hideous Sun Demon
The Brain from Planet Arous
I Vampiri - (I purchased this one used - it *may* have had one originally)
The Awful Dr. Orloff
4D Man
Dinosaurus!
The Crawling Eye
Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe
Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars
Flash Gordon: Space Soldiers
Kronos
First Spaceship on Venus
Cat Women of the Moon
Project Moonbase

These are keep cases that have an insert:

The Day It Came to Earth - 12 page sales brochure showing other Image titles.
The Cat and the Canary - 1 page insert with film information/history and a small box listing scene selections. Blank on one side.
The Blood Beast Terror - 1 page title index. Blank on one side.
Spaceways - 1 page chapter index. Blank on one side.
Destination Moon - 1 page chapter index. Blank on one side.
Rocketship X-M - 1 page chapter index. Blank on one side.
The Flesh and the Fiends - 4 page folded insert (i.e. single page folded in half making 4 "pages"). Duplicate of sleeve image on front, film information on inside and scene selection on back.
The Lost World - I purchased this used - a review done here on DVDTalk by DVD Savant indicates "a very nice booklet reproduces an original souvenir program from 76 years ago". Mine, unfortunately, did not include this item.
Robot Monster - 1 page chapter index. Blank on one side.

I have 3 currently unopened titles in keep cases all of which when shaken sound like there's an insert of some type inside:

Graveyard of Horror
Dr. Orloff's Monster
Cave of the Living Dead

I'll update what's inside sometime during October as I plan to open and watch these during the Horror Challenge.

2 snapper case titles:

Tomb of Torture - "chapter index" inside front cover
Night Caller from Outer Space - currently unopened but I expect to find a "chapter index" inside.

And, like you, several of the multi film sets because they were less expensive than purchasing the singles:

The Beast Box
Mission Mars Collection
Femme Fatale Collection
Watch the Skies

Re: Image Entertainment/Wade Williams inserts?

Thanks so much for the information. I'm thinking now that my assessment of Destination Moon was wrong, and only the snap case has the liner notes. Invaders From Mars definitely bucks the trend, as I have the booklet here, but wonder if any other titles do? Perhaps somebody reading this knows for sure?

FYI, I also have Image's Flash Gordon serials boxed set, their Ed Wood 5xDVD boxed set, 4D Man, The Crawling Eye, and Kronos, all in keep cases with no inserts. But all were bought within roughly the last year, which could have affected the content. My "Lost World" is also missing the booklet, but I opted for the region 2 version, and it's sure to be fun finding a copy. But that one I definitely want to see!

I will update my list as I learn more and hope you'll do the same!

My copy of the 4D Man is 2-3 years old and The Crawling Eye and Flash Gordon set are 4+ (not really sure) so they probably didn't have the inserts at all.

Something to keep in mind with these releases is that several have become MOD disks and the trend is towards more going that route so finding a original pressed version of such titles is going to become more difficult.

I guess that I should point out that this is a rather all-inclusive list, including pretty much anything that Image had a hand in releasing. I figured that it couldn't hurt. Also, I DID NOT list any snapper cases that had chapter listings only; from what I've seen, it looks like ALL snapper cases had chapter listings.

Hope this helps a little, thetao, and doesn't muddy the waters TOO much.

Re: Image Entertainment/Wade Williams inserts?

It helps a lot, thanks! In the meantime I've made contact with a collector with an equally impressive collection through another site, and will be getting his list shortly. It looks like nearly all Image DVD's did come with a chapter list at one point, so I'll eventually be making a list of snap cases and keep cases with liner notes or other "real" content.
