Star Wars Blu-ray covers
This can be a thread for replacement Blu-ray covers for the Star Wars movies.
Does anybody know where I can download hi-res versions of the covers which look like the DVD covers? If so, please e-mail me.
I hope all you talented artists come up with some wonderful Blu-ray covers to blow away those which FOX decided to go with.

Re: Star Wars Blu-ray covers
I'm sure there will be plenty as we lead up to the release and afterward. We don't have full specs on each disc necessarily though, so any covers that exist right now would not be accurate. I'm curious/anxious to see what covers people come up with also.

Re: Star Wars Blu-ray covers
True, we don't have specs yet.
Besides covers for the six movies, where would you put the remaining three discs of extras from the Complete Saga Blu set?
It's hard adjusting DVD covers to Blu covers because of the height difference, so something needs to be cut off or black bars added on the sides, which both don't look right..
I also liked the custom Star Wars covers which emulated the Kenner Toy packaging, I believe made by our friend Darth Vong.

Once I get my hands on the new set I plan on making customs (Kenner Toy Packaging) for them as I did with the DVD releases.

AWESOME news Darth. I can't wait to see them in Blu.
Do you have any plans to convert your Austin Powers covers to Blu-ray? The ones that looked like the Zinema Bond Cover. I loved those and would like to use them for the blu-ray's

Nice work, Vong.
As for the other covers in the OP, those PT covers are okay, maybe because I'm used to them on my DVDs, but the covers for the OT are some of the worse photochopping jobs I've ever seen. Hey! Let's zoom those snowspeeders up, up, and awaaay!

I liked DarthVongs covers as well. There's quite a few excellent custom DVD covers for Star Wars.
Can anyone tell me why Lucas or Fox went with such sub standard dvd covers for their releases?
The original poster art would have been nice.

I like the idea of the book packaging on the official release; too bad they chose a big bright annoying Tatooine color scheme instead of dark outer space designs with characters, ships, blazing laser beams, glowing light sabers and chrome logo designs with possibly foil, lenticular 3-D, embedded glitter or holographic embellishments.

Re: Star Wars Blu-ray covers
I despise goofy abnormal packaging, as it's almost always subpar and dangerous to the discs. I took a shortcut as I repacked my star wars saga discs. I had the original trilogy box set (the fat set from 2004?) and the prequel trilogy. I put them all (DVD and BDs) in 4 multi-disc Viva Elite BD cases with no cover art, instead sticking them inside the DVD trilogy box. I was keeping all the discs anyway, so I figured 'what the hell?' It works. It's actually a perfect fit.
