Alright. When I started the Definitive DVD Slipcover Thread, I did it because no one was keeping an updated list on this forum. A few people would start and then stop. We had like 4 or 5 Threads before I decided to keep an "official" one updated. To make that list, I culled sources from around the internet (here, Digital Bits, Home Theater Forum, DVD Active, etc). I used every available online resource to get the list started. You could call that a hackjob but it got the job done. I think it's more disrespectful to ignore information that's already been offered from others.
Once the building process was done, I started hitting each store on a weekly basis to catalog every slipcover that came out each week. And anything I missed, a fellow member would step up and mention what they found. No trolls. Just very appreciative and helpful members of our DVD community. If you dedicate yourself to something designed to help others, and are respectful to them, they'll be grateful for your dedication and more willing to help out. I just feel bad I haven't had the opportunity to keep the DVD Slipcover Thread updated like I use to. Once I started working overseas, my weekly trips to the stores have dropped dramatically. Just my two cents. |

That's not true. The blu-ray version of Blade Runner never had a slipcover. You're probably confused with the DVD version. :scratch2:
However, I can swear that I have seen and held the BR at Target and it had a cover. I will check again, but I'm pretty sure it has a sc. stayed tuned amigo.... |

Inception- Lenticular slip

Re: The Official Blu-Ray Slipcover thread
Hey Istvan,
Maybe you should separate the slipcovers from the special collector's keepcases. It would make sense. Hence the thread title. Make two lists. |

I'm think of just changing this from slipcovers to all blu-ray that are not naked cases. honestly I dont care if its "steelbook" or "metalpack" or whatnot, as long as the BR is housed in something cool and relatively collectible. |

A-Team was widely dissed but I am still excited to watch it. If they even hint at the original theme song I will probably get goose bumps and cry. I didnt hear or read anything that touted The Town as less than fantastic, so I have some really high expectations. One critic even suggested that Ben Affleck may turn out to be one of the best directors in America today. I didnt scoff at that notion because Gone Baby Gone was really quite good, and I have never been an Affleck hater. btw he is hilarious in Extract. |

Re: The Official Blu-Ray Slipcover thread
This is the worst thread ever. The lack of organization and overall purpose, plus the inability to believe other members when they list slipcovers that are obviously real has caused this thread to fail before it even started. The Blu-ray.com thread is infinitely superior, and it's all anyone would ever need.

Re: The Official Blu-Ray Slipcover thread
Should I start a new one? I'm a regular on the slipcover thread over at blu-ray.com

I still dont understand all the drama because I didnt cut and paste from another site, without any research or proof of cover. and I thought I was anal-retentive about my movie collection.....geez. |
Re: The Official Blu-Ray Slipcover thread
ok, quickie update:
a - I tried changing the threat title to UN-Official...but it won't edit it. I thought this might assuage some of the more anal and screechy members who threw a fit because this thread wasnt a copy of one on blu-ray.com. b - Will get to Target soon and snap a pic of the Blade Runner SC. c - desperately trying to find Appaloosa & Casino Royale with a SC! can't find any info. d - also anyone know if The Reader BR has a cover? thanks! |
