Does anyone know if there are any plans to re-release the Wall-E DVD movie in standard Amaray packaging? In 2008, I had previously purchased this title but like so many others, had to return it because of scratches caused by the "green" packaging.

Just think of all the gas and paper that was used to return the defective copies to the store. Not to mention the people who did not return their copy but replaced the cheap packing with a standard Amaray case.

Sounds pretty wasteful to me.

I think I'll get Wall-E on blu-ray in the future, never bought the DVD. That one has standard packaging for sure.

I can't stand green packaging either. I know my sister has a copy of Wall-E and a bunch other movies that has green packaging and she is starting to keep those discs in disc wallets.

I bought WALL-E on DVD the day it came out and I think I only used it once. I later bought the Blu-Ray because I knew the dvd would get scratched really fast if I kept using it.

I for one am annoyed at "green" packaging (With DVDs Such as WALL-E and The Simpsons Eleventh Season), but I am also irritated with the way they are releasing standard dvds now (With that stupid recycle symbol on the inside of the case). It's really retarded.

As bad as The Simpsons Season Packaging was and as bad as the packaging for the Futurama Movies was, at least those discs stayed in place. Once I took them out (very carefully) I put them in paper sleeves and then put them back in the original packaging.

With WALL-E, however, that disc wouldn't even stay in place. There wasn't even a slot. It was just sitting there and rolling around. I managed to find one copy on DVD that wasn't messed up, and got it to work. I also have it on Blu-ray though. The DVD now serves more or less to keep my Pixar DVD Collection complete.

So here is what I did (as of last night) I went to Staples and picked up some single and double thin cases. And I stuck all my DVDs that came with horrible pro-scratch packaging in them. Then just stuck those cases next to the (now empty) original packaging on my shelves.
Wall-E was one of the ones I did this for. Along with Simpsons: Season 11, Monkees seasons sets, Ghost Hunters season sets and a few others. It sucks that I had to do this though. I wish studios would think before they approve on package design. But at least my DVD are safe now.
