Looks like you've already made your decision, but here's the thing to me...

If one is make sure every DVD is clearly visible on the shelf, then they want their collection as a display. If display is important, then that includes all elements of the packaging, including the slipcovers. If display wasn't important, one could put all the discs in those giant 300-Disc binders. But if it is, I'd find a way to keep the packaging intact.

FYI on the IKEA Billy bookshelves, one can buy extra shelves for inside the body and even another enclosed top shelf that screws onto the top of the unit.

Yeah, I have the extra inner shelves and it looks like I will pick up the extra top shelf.

I have got a lot of people telling me they wanted some of these but so far have only recieved two envelopes. Let me know if you changed your mind so I can give these to people who want them.
