Golden "Academy Award" covers?
I noticed that some of the movies on Amazon.com have these eyesore DVD covers labeled "Academy Award" in a huge golden frame.
E.g. Munich and The Constant Gardener.
Are these the actual replacement of original DVD covers (ugh...) or slipcases?

I'm pretty sure those are simply slipcovers over the original dvd release. I saw a whole display of these at Wal-Mart not too long ago, and they were all slipcovers with the original dvd in them. I picked up American Beauty Awards Edtion (dts), and I don't think this movie came with a slipcase originally. I've thought about tossing the slipcover, but I haven't made a decision yet. It's mainly, if not only, Dreamworks/Universal titles. They are trying to milk these titles for all they can with Academy Award Nominitions/Winners.
