Contrary to what was posted on another Steelbook Forum, I can confirm that this is a Steelbook brand.

Saw the Dario Argento and it seems like it's horror/suspense that I have no interest in regardless if it came with a steelbook case.. Are you interest in those movies? Or got it just because it came in a steelbook packaging?

Boondock Saints: Deluxe Collector's Edition

Is this only available in steelbook? I ordered it from dvdboxoffice.com and it does not say in the description. I called customer service, but he could not confirm.

I saw a couple of DVD's (Appleseed ExMachina 2 disc and Robocop 20th anniv.) in stores yesterday that I thought were steelbook only in standard plastic cases.

When I added the movie to the cart and went to checkout, I entered my postal code to get an shipping estimate. This is what i was quoted.

Getting back to the question at hand, no, this movie is also available in a regular plastic case.
I thought I read somewhere that the Steelbook version was OOP.

yeah, i am pretty sure this is correct and all future production of "Boondock Saints" for sometime now was a regular keepcase with exact cover art on a slipsleeve as the SteelBook. the one from dvdboxoffice is most likely the keepcase.

ob1ob 05-29-08 11:49 AM

I know that the Unrated (Two-Disc Special Edition) is in a standard keepcase with the same cover art and is readily available. The Deluxe Edition is harder to find and I haven't heard of it in a plastic keepcase. Maybe this is not the case in Canada.

Ram 05-29-08 11:52 AM

Does anyone know if the Planet Terror Steelbook is OOP or rare?

There is a Best Buy near me that had 2 copies left a couple of days ago. I bought one of them.

jkernea 05-29-08 11:56 AM

Planet Terror is OOP....RARE? no. Both Best Buy (U.S.) and FutureShop (Canada) carried the title. Best Buy also restocked the item a few weeks back. IMHO, I would imagine the BestBuy exclusive SteelBooks are more common than their TWEC counterparts....can anyone confirm my assumptions?

ob1ob 05-29-08 12:02 PM

That is the only Best Buy I have seen them in recently. I've been to 8 of them this week.

Ram 05-29-08 12:25 PM

Because I never see them anymore at Future Shops

If you read a few posts up, it is *confirmed* that Iron Man will be in steelbook as a FYE exclusive in the States. $5 for pre-orders are being taken at your local FYE already. Cost will be $22.99 with hopefully a $5 mail-in rebate. Slated for release sometime in September (?). I don't know if Future Shop is getting it too or not.

You're very welcome. I cancelled my order pending an answer on whether or not the Deluxe is a steelbook. I even called Futureshop in the Queensway Toronto, Ontario to ask but the associate said it was out of stock even though the website says they have it. Can anyone from Canada verify whether the Deluxe Collector's Edition is a steelbooK?

OldBoy 05-29-08 04:28 PM

wow! i forgot what the inside of this gem looks like. very cool art work. and i take those black security tags off. they come off pretty easy and clean.
