Lenticular covers for "Alien," "ID4," "RoboCop," others

The Digital Bits has reported that, in addition to the steelbook reissues for Cast Away, The Day After Tomorrow, Die Hard, etc, several other titles are going to be getting new, lenticular covers. Included are:
  • The Abyss: Director's Cut
  • Alien
  • Aliens
  • Alien vs. Predator
  • I, Robot
  • Independence Day
  • Predator
  • RoboCop
All are due on 6/5.

Would like to pick up The Day After Tomorrow, Die Hard, and Independence Day-- just for the collectible packaging-- but that feels like a ton to put down on DVDs I already have.

--THX

Yea, given up on collecting them unless they are too cool, such as the new Fletch Lenticular - by far the best I've seen.

Nope, it was at CC tonight, 9.99. Oh shoot, just noticed you said Aliens.

Yep, only Alien (the best cover(and movie) of the bunch IMHO). And all 8 were on a separate display, so it looks like Aliens was delayed/cancelled.

even more specifically, it's a cardboard slipcover with a lenticular sticker adhered to it. very cheap looking. definitely not the kind of packaging change that i would even consider double-dipping for.

Yeah, it's Fox sinking to an even lower low to con people into buying the same stripped-down versions of these titles again and again.
