(why) Was 'The Office Season 2' package changed?

The first pressings were a fold-out with the discs overlapped. Now all the copies in the stores just have the thincases. (which, oddly, makes the box thicker)

Is this just here in Canada or are the US ones like that now too? And, if so, why? Anyone know?

I don't know the answer, but I would've preferred the thin cases. It's a pain in the ass with the overlapping discs. I'm not a big fan of the slip case over the fold out packaging, either.

That's interesting. I would have preferred the cases too. I hate sets with overlapping discs, it's a pain. If I had my way all TV sets would come packaged like Grounded For Life. Slim cases with a disc on each side, all packaged inside a slipcase. It's perfect. They look nice, they're easy to use and they take up very little shelf space.
