A lenticular cover/case is one that changes pictures when you hold it a certain way. or morphs. I am not talking about holographic art like Finding Nemo. Does anyone know if there were Laserdiscs with lenticular jackets?

Batman Begins: 2-Disc Deluxe Edition
Final Countdown Limited Edition

Halloween also had a non-limited version (or something) with the lenticular cover. This is a single disc of the theatrical version, and is from Anchor Bay.

Bad Taste LE had a lenticular cover.

The first three Inu Yasha films had removable lenticular covers, exclusively at Waldenbooks/Borders.

The Batman Begins 2-disc had a lenticular slipcover only available at Best Buy (AFAIK.)

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original) "Meat Package" wasn't really lenticular, but it had a bumpy surface, with a clear slipcover over it.

Dragon Drive (Anime) came with lenticular cards packed inside each volume (+ a vol. 1 w/ box.)

Tehxnolyze (Anime) came with lenticular covers for each volume (+ a vol. 1 w/ box.)

The Super Dimensional Fortress Macross (Anime) complete box set from AnimEigo came with a large lenticular card.

Wolf's Rain (manga, although there is also an anime series) came with a lenticular cover on the manga box.

Submarine 707R (Anime) *may* have come with a lenticular cover, or it could have been just a clear slipcover (I don't have it handy right now.)

There have been several anime series with Etched Chrome covers, like Trigun, Legend of Black Heaven, etc.

i love Lenticular covers now. the "Corpse Bride" is great! i want them all. all, what, 8 of them.

Eric D. 02-02-06 12:42 PM

Edit: Never mind somebody already posted Final Countdown.

Bronkster 02-02-06 02:22 PM

The Brady Bunch season 1 had a lenticular cover, and as much as I love all things lenticular I still didn't buy it. Yay me. ;)

Edited to add: Oh yeah, The DIck van Dyke Show also has lenticular covers! Those I got! :)

Greg613 02-02-06 03:27 PM

Jack Frost
The Tales from the Crapper

EdTheRipper 02-02-06 03:31 PM

Best Buy has an exlcusive Usher dvd called Behind The Truth Tour that has a lenticular cover.

David Lambert 02-02-06 03:40 PM

Brady Bunch and Dick Van Dyke, as mentioned.

Thundercats, From The Earth To The Moon - Signature Ed., Nip/Tuck, Overhaulin', and the upcoming The Triangle.

That's all I can think of TV-DVD wise, at least at the moment. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, though! ;)

MrStayPuft 02-02-06 04:07 PM

Anybody have a list of holo-foil dvds? Probably a bit more than lenticular dvds, but I'm interested in both. I only know two off the top of my head:

Godzilla (1998)
The Others

Thanks

OldBoy 02-02-06 05:22 PM

- R0 version

If my memory serves me correctly, The Doors SE had one.

Kocheese99 02-02-06 11:31 PM

i believe that Shrek 3-D release had a lenticular cover, not positive but i am pretty sure.

ScissorPuppy 02-03-06 12:40 AM

Godzilla (1998) ( original release )
The Others
The Doors

Are not Lenticular covers, they are printed on silver/holifoil paper to give is a metalic-like shine. Lenticular is where the image appears to be moving when shifted and sometimes in 3-d

Where can you find the lenticular cover of The Corpse Bride? I haven't seen it anywhere. :(

Eric D. 02-03-06 03:22 AM

It's a Walmart exclusive.

freshticles 02-03-06 04:19 AM

It's a Future Shop exclusive in Canada.

Thanks.

I was about to amend my post in this thread after just reading the Corpse Bride thread on this forum.

It's a shame that I had just bought it earlier today (or Thursday evening, rather). Now I'll have to go to a Wal-Mart -- a store that I try to avoid on principle whenever possible -- to pick it up. THIS...will be worth it, however.

My copy of Nip/Tuck is not lenticular. I got mine fairly recently, so maybe the newer ones are not.

indiephantom 02-03-06 08:51 AM

what is a lenticular cover?

a cover/slipcase (usually thicker than a normal slipcase) that changes images (1 of 2) when manipulated slightly with the hand. like those changie stickers you had as a kid.

Disc-Flipper 02-05-06 07:05 PM

Jack Frost 2 (did the first Jack Frost have one as well? I'd kill for one of those)

Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Rings (HMV sucker edition where Frodo looks up and down at the ring)

Brady Bunch Seasons 2-4 did as well.

Lenticular can be 3-D perspective or animated.

I didn't know this existed until this thread either. I went and grabbed one Saturday for like $15 (it also comes with a small book) and it was well worth it! Beautiful cover.

luyn 02-06-06 08:17 AM

Future Shop in Canada will apparently have an exclusive holographic cover for Goblet of Fire 2 disc edition.
