Anybody else? I'll still need back cover scans (300dpi) of:

The Trouble With Harry
Torn Curtain
Frenzy

Thanks in advance!

To answer ZackR's question that started this thread: there are some very good scans of all the Universal Hitchcock editions (not to mention all the foreign editions too!) at the following site:

http://www.daveyp.com/hitchcock/index.php

Seriously, for the true Hitchcock fan, the site is indispensible.

J.P.V. - I actually posted the request over the HTF as well, and Dave Pattern himself ("daveyp") directed me to his site. But thanks for your help regardless.

Kriegersaurus, I emailed you the two scans from MaDVD. Sorry I asked for your email address twice - I just realized that you already posted it on the first page of this thread in response to a request from me. I'm nothing if not observant.

Kriegersaurus, Id love to get those covers from too if possible. Like you, I think the nausicaa covers are great, although I prefer something similar to the originals for the back cover and spine. Basically, I like covers that still fit the studio template...ie, displaying specs in the same style, logos, etc...makes them look more real I guess. Anyhow, my email is [email protected] , thanks!

Oh, and joliom, thanks for the links!

ENDContra, I feel exactly the same way. Nausicaa's covers are very well done, but they look more like paperback book covers than DVD covers. That's not a put-down by any means. For my own personal tastes, I like my covers to look like actual studio releases.

I need :
TROUBLE W/HARRY
MARNIE
THE BIRDS
PSYCHO
VERTIGO

I dont need the ad poster cover, I would just as soon have the unified "Signature Collection" artwork...unless someone has something better.

There's always Harry_Lime's covers if you guys prefer a "cleaner" layout. They're all sized for thinpaks, but could also be modified into standard singles with the blink of an eye.

Btw, my bad. It's Hairy_Lime not Harry_Lime. Sorry if that was throwing you guys off running a search. So far he's done matching covers for the following Hitchcock's:

The 39 Steps
The Birds
Dial M for Murder
Frenzy
I Confess
The Lady Vanishes
The Man Who Knew Too Much
North by Northwest
Notorious
Psycho
Rear Window
Rebecca
Rope
Saboteur
Shadow of a Doubt
Spellbound
Strangers on a Train
Suspicion
To Catch a Thief
The Trouble with Harry
Vertigo
The Wrong Man

Hopefully he'll knock off Marnie, Family Plot, Topaz and Torn Curtain soon too.

ENDcontra, once I get the covers finished I'll let everyone know where to get 'em. Dave Pattern might be hosting them for me. If any of you haven't yet basked in the glorious light of his Hitchcock site, get your asses over there NOW.

Thanks joliom, I finally found them when I searched for titles of the movies rather than his name. Those covers are way hot, but Im unsure whether I want to go with the original theatrical poster versions or these.

Kriegersaurus, thats a good site, but for some reason hes taken down the scans of the original releases....any reason? I hadnt downloaded them yet and was hoping to get them in case I decided to do a patch job with some of the other covers I had seen.

ENDContra, as far as I can tell, the scans are still there. For example, here's a direct link to Vertigo:

http://www.daveyp.com/hitchcock/dvds.../5401_rear.php

As for my own efforts, I've decided to abandon the original back covers. I just wasn't able to get the results I wanted. So I've amassed a collection of suitable graphics and fonts (thanks again, Joliom!), and I'll be creating my own from scratch. I just finished a template for the specs box (languages, subtitles, aspect ratios, etc), and it looks fabulous (almost identical to the real thing). My back covers will probably still somewhat resemble the Universal editions in overall design, but they won't be direct copies. It'll take me longer, but I think the wait will be justified by the results.

And yes, my Vertigo will kick much ass.

I want to redo my Universal Masterpiece Collection Hitchcocks as thin packs.

Could you send me info on the Hairy_Lime scans?

Thanks...I was looking for them in the wrong area, on the main page. I completely missed (and forgot) the subsection for just Universal releases.
