Worth it to double dip for sleeve?

I've owned Hero for months now, but I picked it up from Hollywood Video and didn't get the sleeve. Today at Target I noticed one of the ten copies they had had a sleeve. The rest didn't. Any thoughts on whether it's worth to drop $13 on a title I already own JUST for the sleeve?

No. It's not worth it.

No, definitely not. Especially since, as far as I know, the sleeve looks exactly the same as the cover.

Well, I'm not really sure about the details and community of people who buy DVDs as collectors pieces rather than movies to watch (and I'm sure there are people fanatical about it). But personally, I would rate spending full-price just for a sleeve pretty high on the "Top 10 Signs You're Being Too Anal About Your DVD Collection" list. In other words, to answer your question, no.

Well said. And thanks to all for offering a little perspective on my sleeve "issue."

Yes, it depends on how anal you are. We all know there are some seriously anal people here

I'm willing, for example, to find a one-sheet because I friggin' hate the Photoshopped DVD cover.........

I wouldn't rebuy just for a slipcover. I would however make a point to buy it the first time w/ a slipcover.

If you have access to the ability to time travel.

If the original poster had enough money for a time machine, he would've been able to buy the movie on release weekend w/ the sleeve in the first place!

I throw all my slipcovers away. What's the point? It's just a cheap piece of cardboard that is destined to get worn down with repeat usage and creates an additional impediment to accessing the DVD. The only ones I bother to hang on to are the ones that actually hold together the case somehow.

Couldn't you just take the sleeve off, put it over another title of equal or lesser value, and buy that? Then you get the sleeve and a new title so you're not just buying the same movie.

Just kidding, that would be dishonest.

You could just buy the one with the sleeve, keep the sleeve, and sell the sleeveless one as "new" on eBay. That'd probably get you back a good chunk of your $13.

(That aside, I'm with everyone else...let it go!!)
