Replacement Cases

I have loaned a couple of DVDs that have been used and abused by small children and one by a dog. I'd love to (go back in time and not lend them) replace them with new cases. I only need about 5 so I'd like to find a place that doesn't require the purchase of 100 or more. Any recommendations on nice cases? I know where to get CD jewel cases, but I'd like them to fit in with my other DVDs. I'm not sure how I would lable them either. Your suggestions other than getting new friends would be appreciated

You'll probably get a few wrong forum posts, but go to:
http://www.effectuality.com or http://www.effectuality.ca.

Go to Target or some other department store and get a pack of 5 or 10.

For the covers, do a search for dvd covers on google. Print out what you need.

I did a lot of searching and found mostly adware and dead links and German box covers. I'm looking for English DVD box covers if you have any recommendations, I would appreciate it.

I go to my local video store. They put all their dvd's in their own cases, and sell the old cases for real cheap (5 for $1.00). You may want to look into going to local video stores.

Look no further....

Genesys DTP has a huge selection of cases and amounts for pretty good prices. They've got a pack of 10 regular single-disc cases for $4, better than what Muad'Dib said he found at Wal-Mart.

I probably need to buy a pack of double-disc cases myself. They've got a 10-pack for $5.

I bought a case of forty 8-disc cases from them a while back for $38 + shipping, which I think came to about $50. But that was a huge box.

Thanks everyone. I didn't know it would be so easy to get them til you guys helped out. I really only needed 4 but I ordered spares since I was going to get nailed on shipping anyways. I ended up getting 25 for $13 w/shipping and tax. They have the plastic cover holders so now all I need to do is find a good web page for the 4 covers I'd like to make. I know my inkjet won't do them justice but it would be nicer than me using a sharpie to make the label.

If anyone finds a sight with some good English language DVD box covers, please let me know.

i saw some at BestBuy last night actually. I was interested in getting some to replace some of my gunked up cases. They were $10 for 10 cases, but i passed because they were wrapped up in plastic and there was no way of knowing exactly what kind of cases they were. Im looking for amaray's and i've been burned in the past when i bought a 3pak at Walmart a couple years ago and they ended up being some cheapo cases where you have to squeeze the center just to take the disc out, making it feel like the disc is going to snap in half. I've seen some on the web (check the DVD covers/cases section) for as low as $0.75 a case, that might be your best bet.

I'm gonna stop by a few Blockbusters and Hollywood Videos Tuesday and see if I can get some cases. It'd be esp nice since Millon Dollar Baby comes out and I really need some 2-discers in a bad way.

I'd order some but as others have pointed out it's hard to tell what kind of cases they are, and i've been burned in the past as well (pics not even matching the actual product). Anyone know for ex where to get the nice 2-discs that WB/New Line (and others) are using? I hate the look and feel of the cheap ones...

A friend of mine got me 60+ Amaray DVD cases from his BlockBuster-Free!

Mine local Blockbuster doesn't keep the cases or won't give them up. I even visually looked in the dumpster.

www.inetdvd.com has a great selection of amarays with different colors. You can buy singles as well. But I think their shipping is too high.

Can anyone verify if the cases pictured are the ones actually shipped?

I've bought from them before. They're exactly what the studios use.

Well, my local BBV has them available to everyone, but for $0.25 each

This week BestBuy has the Stealth preview DVD for free. They actually ring up at 1 cent each and are factory sealed in nice keepcase. Essentially, you get a brand new keepcase for 1 cent, cheapest so far

Please be considerate and only pick up a few at most, so that other people can get their hands on the preview DVD. If you want more, pay for the 5-pack or 10-pack instead.

Just a tip for the future. I bought about a dozen of those slim clear cases, similar to what Futurama and Arrested Development come packed in, for use as my "rental" cases. Whenever someone borrows a disc from me, I pop the disc in one of those since it doen't matter if they get beat up or destroyed.

I went ahead and ordered from inet. I hope they're the ones pictured...

Had moderate success getting cases from BBV, but they gave me ones that were older so they had that grimy feel to them. I wiped them off and most will work. Needed more though...

Small rant: I could not believe how unbelievably rude one (i'd assume) manager at BBV was. They must get asked often by people or something, that's no excuse to be unpleasant however. I haven't been to that particular one in yrs, and certainly won't be going back now - except maybe to drive my truck thru the store.
